Pending Approval

About Broadcasts Pending Approval

Through configuration a client can change the regular behavior when making broadcast, basically a Broadcast Pending Approval has to be configured as a regular Broadcast but the main difference lies in the final process of the configuration.

In order to configure a Broadcast with pending status Approval, the user’s profile that will create this campaign has to have limited credentials or permission in order just to limit her/his actions to create and schedule the SMS Broadcast campaign. After that, a different user which profile’s credential and permission allows to approve the SMS broadcast that’s pending for approval will proceed to verify and approve that campaign.

Pending Approval Account Permissions

  • User that can only create the SMS broadcast campaign: 633 (Pending Approval) and 630 (Disable send a broadcast (Only allow save))
  • User that approves the SMS broadcast campaign: 633 (Pending Approval) and 624 (Allow reject a broadcast)

The process is as follows:

To create a broadcast campaign navigate to the Blasting submenu in the Main Menu and select Broadcast:

The main broadcast screen shows all the past blasts that have been delivered, including a few stats for each one such as Message Delivery Rate, Expected Messages, Sent Messages, Remaining Messages, % Sent and status. Using the Status link an active broadcast can be suspended temporarily or cancelled permanently (please note that some broadcasts may show a % Sent greater than 100% in cases where messages have been retried or a fallback method was used):

To create a new Broadcast campaign you must click on the New Broadcast button on the toolbar:

This will open the New Broadcast screen:

Broadcast will be created and pending for approval without a date, the user that approves this process will have the option to validate the broadcast process to start immediately or to schedule it for a future date.

Here's the breakdown of the required fields:

You can select none (in which case you must upload an Excel or CSV file in the I want to create a new SMS distribution list option), one or multiple lists (using the Ctrl key in Windows or Command key in OSX). Distribution lists can be populated in other campaigns. For example, you can use a Subscription campaign to add users to a distribution list, and then use the Broadcast tool periodically to send MTs to all the subscribed users

SMS Broadcast approval

From the perspective of the user that approves the broadcast, the process to get to Broadcast home page is the same as previously detailed. The difference is that the campaign will have status Pending and this user has to click on the campaigns name in order to Accept, Reject or Cancel the process.

Once into the campaign page, this user will verify that all the information is correct and proceed to set a date for the broadcast to be performed. It can be either immediately -Now- or schedule to be sent in a future date. The user that approves can either Preview, Accept, Reject or Cancel the SMS Broadcast campaign.
